Matthew Cheng is an undergraduate student in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering. He is originally from San Mateo, CA and moved to the Lafayette area in early 2020. His childhood in the crowded, metropolitan San Francisco Bay Area spurred his interest in transportation engineering and mass transit networks.

 

Outside the classroom, he is very passionate about trains and enjoys watching, drawing, and filming them. He is a member of the Purdue Railroad Club, which operates an extensive model railroad layout.
